Hey, I remember being on that trail! It was muddy as hell as I recall and only made it to the creek where you had to climb down some rocks to continue on the trail. Little did I know the beach was not that far...thanks for telling me. :p
But we had an excuse...a lady had fallen and injured herself there and we followed her and her husband back to make sure they made it back safely. What a good 'local' I am. LOL!
Well, aren't you just the boy scout! Dork, you should've kept going. Walking through that creek is the best way to get rid of that cakey red mud. Just a couple of days earlier, the trail got a lot of rain trapping some people out on the Kapalau trail. They were coming back (one of them looked like a Kitaro...Yanni was nowhere to be seen)and they were all barefoot. Next time, ditch the shoes, brah.
Yeah, I need to find me a way to get a local ID so I can benefit from the deep "local" discounts - they always asked but I didn't have proof and my pidgin english sucks so that was a dead giveaway.
